Design Review Guidelines

Welcome to our Design Review Guidelines page. Here, you will find examples of changes you can request when you receive on your email the first design proof illustration of your pet.

Our goal is to ensure your complete satisfaction with the final product. Please review the guidelines below to understand what changes can be made by our team.

Illustration Style

All Sketchy Pet illustrations are created in a cartoon, vector style. This is our signature style, and you can see some examples of it around our website, and our social media. We cannot change the illustration to a different style.

Changes Allowed

We want to guarantee your full satisfaction and ensure you're happy with the final result. Here are the types of changes our team can accommodate:

1. Color Adjustments

The colors on your custom illustration can be adjusted if you feel they are too light, too dark, or off-tone.

2. Remove Elements

We can remove specific elements such as a tongue, collar, or other minor details you might not want in the final illustration.

3. Change Size, Position, and Angle of Elements

We can adjust the size, position, or angle of elements like ears, eyes, nose, or spots on the fur to better match your pet’s appearance.

4. Change Font of Pet's Name

We can add or remove your pet's name, change the font style, adjust its size, or color.

5. Add or Remove White Border

We can add or remove the White Border around the illustration according to your preference.
We recommend the use of the White Border on darker fabrics, so the illustrations stands out.

6. Facing the Opposite Side

We can flip the illustration so the pet faces the other side.
However, this is not possible for pets with asymmetrical spots and features, as those would need to be reworked and moved to the opposite side.

Changes Not Allowed

For the following types of changes, we generally cannot accommodate requests. These are outside the scope of our revision process.
1. Changing the breed of the pet.
2. Recreating the illustration from a new reference photo after the initial proof is done.
3. Requesting animations or dynamic changes (e.g., making the pet appear to be moving).
4. Different Angle or Pose. All illustrations are created in a 3/4 position, which is the signature style of Sketchy Pet. You cannot request a different angle or pose.
5. Changing the expression.
6. Adding significant features (such as accessories and body parts). When placing your order, you can choose between a head-only illustration or adding the body for an extra cost. The body illustration includes the torso only, and we are unable to illustrate the legs or tail of the pet. This option needs to be selected at the time of ordering.
7. Requesting significant changes to the pet’s anatomy that are not reflected in the reference photo.

Embroidery

Please note that when you order an embroidered product, the digital proof provided by our design team is a representation of the file that will be used to create the embroidery. The final product may differ in detail and color due to the nature of thread work.

While we strive for high quality and definition - achieving up to 15,000 stitches with a wide range of color shades - some minor details in the digital proof may not be possible to replicate if they are too small. Additionally, colors may vary slightly from what is displayed on your screen.

The maximum embroidery size is 4 x 4 inches, though it may be smaller depending on the intricacy of the design.

Our team is dedicated to making sure you are happy with your final product. For any further questions or specific requests, please contact us at hello@sketchypet.com.
